Cameco’s Northern Saskatchewan Scholarship Application Process

April 18, 2024

Energize your future, through education.

Cameco remains steadfast in its commitment to northern students. Our Northern Saskatchewan Scholarship is a dedicated program, specifically for residents of Saskatchewan’s north who are seeking funding for post-secondary education. The application process for 2024 will open early June.

Last year, Craig Gardiner used his scholarship towards his studies at Athabasca University. The financial assistance helped alleviate some stress for the young father. “This scholarship got me through my last semester. As a student and father, the scholarship provided me with relief as I was able to pay for school expenses. I could focus on my classes and not the stressors of financial instability."

The scholarship offers up to $5,000 per student each year. With the opportunity to renew up to four terms, this means some students could have their entire degree or certificate funded through the program. A total of $50,000 has again been allocated in 2024.

Since launching the program six years ago, Cameco has provided funding for 123 scholarships to northern Saskatchewan students. Their studies are diverse, ranging from nursing and education to mining, geology and management studies.
