Cameco Touchdown for Dreams - 2016 Application Process Open
February 11, 2016
After a record number of applicants and recipients in 2015, the application process is open for this year’s Cameco Touchdown for Dreams program.
A partnership between the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Cameco and Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, the Cameco Touchdown for Dreams program makes dreams come true for women with life-threatening cancer.
Application forms can be found at www.saskcancer.ca/donate-link/touchdown-for-dreams until the window to apply closes on March 31. The adjudication panel will select seven to 10 recipients on April 18 with each dream valued around $7,500.
Forty-five Saskatchewan women applied last year, with 10 being selected as recipients – taking the total to 26 women who have been part of the program since the partnership was formed in 2012.
Two main sources contribute funding every year to make the program a reality. Cameco makes a cash donation, but Rider Nation contributes the majority of the funds through fans purchasing special pink souvenirs at a home game each October.
