Northern students have a new opportunity to build skills and grow their careers in the trades with a new pilot program spearheaded by Cameco.

Tinker’s work experience placement is just one example of the value Cameco provides to Pinehouse, English River First Nation (ERFN), Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) and the seven Athabasca Basin communities, which include three First Nations and four municipal communities, through our collaboration agreements.

Starting with around 20 employees in 2002 and working only with Cameco and Orano in northern Saskatchewan, Athabasca Basin Security (ABS) has now grown to 250 employees across Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba – with a dream of spreading across Canada.

Cameco is committed to making a positive, long-term difference in local communities. We are pleased to announce 16 students are the recipients of the Cameco Northern Saskatchewan Scholarship for 2024 - with a focus on mining.
