Background: Extensive mining career, starting with Eldorado in Uranium City in 1979, later working at Rabbit Lake and McClean Lake, served as a band councillor in Fond du Lac First Nation from 2003-2017, site Elder with Orano from 2018 to 2023, joined Cameco as Elder/Knowledge keeper at Cigar Lake/Key Lake in February 2024

McDonald has worked in the mines and knows how hard it is, so he feels he can offer direction. He’s also comfortable talking about challenges related to alcohol, being away from family or relationships. “I want to help people to focus on work and to advance in their careers and get better - and to learn how to work together with people,” he says.
